MINGLE LOG | WEEK TWO
DOUBLE THE FUN
When everyone wakes up on Monday morning, perhaps with heavy or anxious hearts, they'll all feel compelled to gather once more in the courtyard. After a long day of praying, it's time to see the results of Saturday's verdict. Patience is waiting for them, as always, on the steps before the entrance to the altar room, and doesn't speak until everyone has gathered.
"Good morning, everyone. Or, whatever kind of morning you'd call it. I know a lot of you are pretty freaked out, and I know what's at the top of the list, so let me go ahead and get business out of the way." Taking a deep sigh, she splays her hands out in front of her. "I've been asked by Love to deliver a message on her behalf. Due to the nature of this game, the rules, ordinarily, can't be broken. Just this once, however, due to the prayers and pleas of followers and non-followers alike, her own feelings on the matter, and majority support of the pantheon, the bond between Julius Kresnik and Itachi Uchiha has been severed."
Patience scans the crowd, her gaze lingering on Julius, before it finally reaches and settles, wherever he is on the crowd, directly upon Itachi.
"You, with the guilty conscience, on the other hand, have not had the advantage of allies. You, Itachi Uchiha, have been caught in contempt by Ambition and forsaken by Love, and are hereby removed from play. This might sting a little...but don't worry, because I'll take good care of you."
Without warning, a single bolt of white-hot lightning shoots down from the sky through the temple's pillars, and smites Itachi where he stands. His body burns into such a crisp that nothing is left but ash. No matter how close anyone else may have been standing, they won't have felt a thing. Not the proximity of the blaze, the crackle of electricity, or the searing light against their eyes. It was simply there, and then it was gone. Patience brushes her hands.
"And now, I'm afraid it's time for me to go. It's been fun!" She turns to leave, but then pauses, turning halfway back ground toward the crowed again. "Oh, right, one more thing. Love also told me to that next time you want a miracle, it won't be so easy. Sooo, maybe keep that in mind. Toodles, fam."
With that, she's gone. Patience disappears into the altar room, and no matter where anyone may check, she won't be found within the temple. Prayers are meant with no responses, but offerings still disappear from the dish where they're left. Maybe, wherever she is, she can still receive them.
Still, even in her absence not a soul feels as if they should leave. They all get the sense that the last week has now drawn to its close, and the second week has, at once, begun. A figure strides out from the altar room, footsteps casual but shoulders back, almost protective--and it's easy, as the second figure comes into view, to see why. The second god, much smaller, all but hides in the shadow of the first, holding onto their robes and peeking out from around him. Despite their shyness, the second god is the first to speak, stammering in a small, sweet voice, distinctly that of a child's.
"H-Hello everyone! It's really nice...nice to meet you all!"
"Hey," chimes in the first god, raising a hand.
With an obvious air of hesitance, the smaller of the two relinquishes their hold on the other and makes their way forward until they're standing side-by-side. In their hand, they hold a scroll, and clearing their throat, brings themself to read its contents. As they do, the text etched into the polished white stone columns that line the courtyard rewrites itself to accurately display the following:
Re-rolling the scroll, the god looks up at their companion, almost expectant, but they put a hand on their shoulder in encouragement and after a pause, they begin to speak again, their voice beginning to show more confidence.
"There isn't too much else to tell you right now, but Merriment and I have provided some new locations for you at the ends of the east and west hall! Oh, and, um, I added some new features to the lab by request, so if you're interested, feel free to use them. There are also some new rules this week. Please let me know if...if they're too troubling and you need assistance before you get yourself hurt, okay?"
And then, like a bubble bursting, the hold keeping them there vanishes, and everyone is free to explore as they please.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us through plurk or discord, and we'll do our best to clear everything up for you as quickly as possible. If you've elected to change factions, please make sure you select an updated power and report it under the reporting toplevel!
Have fun, everyone!
Have fun, everyone!

[And here's Newt, trying to get a read on this... kid.]
So you're responsible this place and the lab, huh?
no subject
[PLEASE SAY THEY'RE OKAY!!!]
no subject
I'll be honest, this place isn't really my style.
[He shrugs. Nothing personal.]
I'm glad to have the lab here, though. I'd be pretty bored otherwise, especially with this "no music" rule in place.
[He's grumpy about it, but he's not going to blame Justice. That hasn't gotten anyone else anywhere, and chances are it was a follower using that rulemaking ability.]
But I'm surprised that you're the one who chose the lab. You must really know your stuff to put together a place like that.
no subject
[But Justice doesn't let it get them down for too long.]
I'm not an engineer or anything, not like all of you, but...I'm interested in robotics. I wouldn't know so much, except those kind of things were all around me. I just based the place off of what I'd seen.
no subject
What you'd seen where?

[Thanks!]
I was locked up in a facility, so I didn't know much about it, really...
no subject
Jeez. It's a good thing you ended up here then, huh? Do you like being a god?
no subject
[It has, uh, its ups and downs.]
I miss having a dog around, but other than that, I'm happier now, even if there's still so much missing.
no subject
That, uh, that sucks. Can't you magic up a dog for yourself with your god powers?
no subject
[ 8( ]
That would just be pretend.
no subject
[And then he remembers he's talking to a ten-year-old.]
Basically, at the end of this, do you think the wishes we ask for would just be pretend, too?
no subject
[They have to think.]
I'd just be trying to replace something, or fill a void. I'd be creating a virtual replica of an idea that I have in my mind. It's only false because I don't know any better.
[...]
But the wishes that we grant you, those would be real. Your will, fulfilled.
no subject
You know, you remind me of me when I was your age.
[That is maybe the highest compliment Newt has ever paid anyone, so, there's that.]
But I don't think you'll turn out like me.
[He lets out a small laugh.]
Do you think you'll be able to fill in the stuff you're missing once you're in your new world?
no subject
[There's an awkward hesitation.]
That's not how families work, right? You can't...can't just make them if you didn't already have one.
no subject
You can't, you're right.
[He chews on his lip.]
But you can sort of... collect pieces of a family. Friends can be family. You and Merriment are close, right? I bet he could be your family if you wanted.
no subject
[Justice perks up a bit more.]
You're right...Merriment is my best friend! He always watches after me, and he's never, ever mean!
no subject
See, there you go. A family doesn't have to be just, like, your mom and dad. It'd be nice if it always worked out that way, but that's definitely not the case.
[There's a beat.]
I, uh, I don't have a mom, but I had my dad and my uncle. That was still good.
[He can relate a little bit.]
