TRIAL | WEEK SIX
SIXTH TRIAL
The participants' sleep the night before is blessedly free of god-sent dreams, and when they wake and the morning dawns bright and early, they find themselves drawn to the courtyard.
The courtyard looks mostly the same as it did the day before - filled with statues of each of the participants, with frosted glass-topped coffins at the center. However, now that the trial has begun, the coffins of our victims are open, their bodies is available for examination.
Once everyone has gathered, Sincerity heaves a sigh and glances from the gathered group, to the coffins, and back to the group. "Right, well... I was hoping we wouldn't be gathered here for this this weekend, but here we are. If you've got any questions, ask me. The only way out of this is through it, so we'd better get to work."
He says it with all the weariness of someone who's had to say the same thing several times already, and then looks to Beauty.
Beauty, meanwhile, stands at Sincerity's side with his hands primly folded behind his back. Likewise, when he speaks he's a little weary himself.
"Sincerity-senpai will handle all of your questions throughout the day, whereas I'll be your guide for locations you wish to visit." There's a pause. "Best of luck to all of you."
"...oh, right!" Sincerity realizes something suddenly - he claps his hands to get everyone's attention. "I hope you all dressed up, 'cause uh, if you didn't... well, you'll find out... now."
Anyone who did not dress their best for trial will find themselves decked out in the fanciest, most impractical clothing they can imagine.
Behind them, above the doorway to the altar room, marble busts appear depicting the masked faces of the five suspected gods, names etched upon their stands: Justice, Ambition, Indulgence, Merriment, and Love. The culprit is among their ranks, but which team will bear the burden?
Good luck, everyone. You have nine hours to cast your vote... and your time starts now.

OOC NOTES
Hello, everyone, and welcome to our sixth trial!
Each trial is surrounded by different circumstances, so don't expect this one to play out the same way as the last, but read on for a general reminder on what to keep in mind while playing with the game's specific trial mechanics:
Participants will have the chance to investigate a preserved version of the temple as it was on murder night by providing the name of the location they wish to investigate to the appropriate host. Only one location may be investigated at a time, and no more than three characters should take part in the investigation. Clues from the death announcement dream and the characters' bodies themselves will provide hints for which places you may want to investigate, so these will serve as good ic talking points. The accompanying host is able to manipulate the environment upon request to allow you to test theories. We suggest that you visit locations to confirm or deny theories that have come up in discussion at the trial, or to search for clues if you get stuck. The others can and should continue to brainstorm while the investigation crew is away. Characters may revisit previously searched locations.
The purpose of these trials is determining which god is considered responsible for the actions of their follower, and in turn, which god will therefore lose a follower. Ultimately, your task here is to sway the group at large into voting the way best plays to your strategy and not just for solving a crime. Remember that no matter what conclusion you come to, there's never any guarantee that any actual culprit will be up for execution. We highly encourage that you start early thinking about which god may have had the most to gain from the crime, so you aren't finding yourself voting blind at the last moment. When you're ready, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 6PM PST/9PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.
If you have any questions at any time, please let do us know by pinging us on Discord or on plurk! Britt (
bloodthirstiest) is taking point on the trial today, and Danielle (
entrappings) is her backup.
Thank you, and have fun!

Everything seems to be kind of scattered around, but as Luke combs through items he'll find a broken capsule of some kind, along with a lighter. There are a ton of weapons laying around, too. A sword from the armory with its scabbard, and six objects that look like throwing stakes. Nearby, there's a defective smoke bomb as well, and...crumbs?
A burnt notebook lays on the ground nearby. There's also a familiar robot cast to the side. Emma lays beaten up. Sad. And abandoned.
While Connor examines the blood, he'll find that it's a massive amount as if someone's bled out. It doesn't smear in any direction, seemingly pooling in the one spot. Various vials and beakers are smashed into pieces around the blood, and there's a broken vial as well, set apart just slightly from the other glass objects. Chunks of long purple hair are scattered around as well, and nearby there's...a kitchen pan. Like a cooking pan. Wild.
As for Yu? Fun, lots of scorch marks! But if he examines closely he'll also find scratch marks on the ground away from the burnt areas, and a single match. It looks as though it was lit and used.
Oh yeah. And watch your step? There's some weird, unidentifiable goo on the floor...]

[He scoops up the broken capsule in one hand, the lighter in the other. He tucks them safely away in his pocket—then starts grabbing all the weapons, holding them in a bundle in his arms--
--that he then puts down to pick up the defective smoke bomb. He stares at the crumbs, frowning—then grabs the notebook, too.
Emma... well.]
Hey, are either of you guys free?
There's a lot of stuff over here.
[After all that discussion with Ishi...
...
He checks the blade of the sword, swallowing nervously.]
no subject
I can assist you in a minute. Please watch your step in the meantime.
[Maybe.
He looks at the pool of blood for a moment, going over the injuries they saw on Catra and Entrapta. Were the cuts on Entrapta even nearly deep enough for this sort of shit? The kitchen pan will also get a thorough examination. How big a pan are we talking about here? Are there any scuffs or marks on it, or any indication of what it may have been used for?
As for the breakers and vials... He immediately goes for the broken vial. Is it similar at all to the one he found on Entrapta's body?]
... There's a pool of blood over here. Enough to point towards exsanguination. But there's no evidence that whoever bled out was moved.
[Maybe this was Ambition's ability?]
no subject
Given that he had less to examine, he'll be the one to go help Luke first. ]
Here, let me.
[ He'll take the notebook, if Luke allows him, to page through it carefully. It's already burnt... he doesn't want it to fall apart. He'll also go take a look at those ... stakes? While Luke is busy with that sword. ]
no subject
For Connor, it’s a standard kitchen pan. It’s just there. Hanging out. Having a great time. No indication it was used at all. Rapunzel isn’t in this game.
It’s a lot of blood though.
Finally, the notebook, as Yu flips through it, will indicate it’s Entrapta’s. It’s just all of her notes, etc. And the stakes, Yu will probably recognize they’re more like homemade bo-shuriken.]
no subject
He might be spreading himself WAY too thin, so if someone wants to take over part of it, he would very gratefully accept their assistance.]
no subject
[Hm. Rapunzel may not be in this game, but Connor is taking that pan back with him just in case. As for the lonely, broken vial off to the side — if he puts the pieces back together, will it resemble the vial he found on Entrapta?
When that's done, though, he turns his attention to the goo. Swiping a sample with his finger, what does it look like? Is it any particular color? Is it sticky? Or just kind of a gelatinous blob?]
no subject
The notebook doesn't yield much other than Entrapta's notes, but he'll hang onto it, too. Maybe someone back at the trial will have more of a use for it.
He'll go ahead and help Luke with some of those things, sure. He'll take over the bomb and the crumbs, so they'e each got two items to puzzle out. ]
no subject
Anyway, the crumbs look like they're cookie crumbs. Otherwise everything else Luke is looking at is...as described! It's a defective smoke bomb, it's a lighter, and there's a broken capsule! Is he just staring at them, or...?
Connor will find that the vial would resemble the one found on Entrapta if he put it back together.
It's just. Goo. I don't know if there's a color. But now Connor's going to find that it's very sticky, and his fingers will now stick together!]
no subject
he sucks at this. he gathers everything up again, tucking what he can into his pocket to take back, and starts sweeping the room again for anything they may have missed.]
...Connor, can you extend that to anyone who had fresh injuries? I mean it when I say anyone. I don't think it's such a bad idea to... to be extra cautious, here.
no subject
If he sniffs the remains of the broken vial, will it smell similarly to the vial that was on Entrapta? He'll also give the other broken beakers and vials a cursory glance and sniff, just to make sure they weren't carrying anything inside when they were broken.]
I will. Did you find another weapon over there?
[Either way, he's taking the broken vial with him. Is there anything else in this corner of the room, or is that it?]
no subject
He's also apparently going to keep on not speaking! He'll just gather up all the items they've found. Carefully, he removes his fancy suit jacket and lays all the evidence inside it. He'll tie it up like a bundle to bring back with them more easily. The match and the bo-shuriken go in there, and he'll gesture for Luke to put his finds in there, as well.
Are they about done? If they're not missing anything else, he'd sure like to leave. ]
no subject
There’s also, in the last corner, a very tarnished coin.]
no subject
[He spots the glint, just barely through the patina of godchanging evidence]
...Wait.
[and scoops up
a coin.
is it Entrapta's? they have absolutely no way of really telling.]
Well... we've got a coin.
no subject
[But they're done here, so! He pockets the vial and takes the frying pan with him, frowning.]
I found a vial similar to the one we found on Entrapta, but it didn't smell the same. It was broken, as well.
[So... Who knows what's up with that. Walking towards the staircase leading down now, though.]
no subject
But as they begin to head down, Yu will grasp Connor by the shoulder, slowing him, letting Luke walk ahead of the two of them. He'll break his sudden vow of sudden muteness to hurriedly whisper in Connor's ear. Apparently has a lot to share, and quickly.
And with that, the 2nd floor group will depart! ]
no subject
and just.
stares.
please. spare him this.]
You guys wanna clue me in, or am I not adult enough?
