TRIAL | WEEK SIX
SIXTH TRIAL
The participants' sleep the night before is blessedly free of god-sent dreams, and when they wake and the morning dawns bright and early, they find themselves drawn to the courtyard.
The courtyard looks mostly the same as it did the day before - filled with statues of each of the participants, with frosted glass-topped coffins at the center. However, now that the trial has begun, the coffins of our victims are open, their bodies is available for examination.
Once everyone has gathered, Sincerity heaves a sigh and glances from the gathered group, to the coffins, and back to the group. "Right, well... I was hoping we wouldn't be gathered here for this this weekend, but here we are. If you've got any questions, ask me. The only way out of this is through it, so we'd better get to work."
He says it with all the weariness of someone who's had to say the same thing several times already, and then looks to Beauty.
Beauty, meanwhile, stands at Sincerity's side with his hands primly folded behind his back. Likewise, when he speaks he's a little weary himself.
"Sincerity-senpai will handle all of your questions throughout the day, whereas I'll be your guide for locations you wish to visit." There's a pause. "Best of luck to all of you."
"...oh, right!" Sincerity realizes something suddenly - he claps his hands to get everyone's attention. "I hope you all dressed up, 'cause uh, if you didn't... well, you'll find out... now."
Anyone who did not dress their best for trial will find themselves decked out in the fanciest, most impractical clothing they can imagine.
Behind them, above the doorway to the altar room, marble busts appear depicting the masked faces of the five suspected gods, names etched upon their stands: Justice, Ambition, Indulgence, Merriment, and Love. The culprit is among their ranks, but which team will bear the burden?
Good luck, everyone. You have nine hours to cast your vote... and your time starts now.

OOC NOTES
Hello, everyone, and welcome to our sixth trial!
Each trial is surrounded by different circumstances, so don't expect this one to play out the same way as the last, but read on for a general reminder on what to keep in mind while playing with the game's specific trial mechanics:
Participants will have the chance to investigate a preserved version of the temple as it was on murder night by providing the name of the location they wish to investigate to the appropriate host. Only one location may be investigated at a time, and no more than three characters should take part in the investigation. Clues from the death announcement dream and the characters' bodies themselves will provide hints for which places you may want to investigate, so these will serve as good ic talking points. The accompanying host is able to manipulate the environment upon request to allow you to test theories. We suggest that you visit locations to confirm or deny theories that have come up in discussion at the trial, or to search for clues if you get stuck. The others can and should continue to brainstorm while the investigation crew is away. Characters may revisit previously searched locations.
The purpose of these trials is determining which god is considered responsible for the actions of their follower, and in turn, which god will therefore lose a follower. Ultimately, your task here is to sway the group at large into voting the way best plays to your strategy and not just for solving a crime. Remember that no matter what conclusion you come to, there's never any guarantee that any actual culprit will be up for execution. We highly encourage that you start early thinking about which god may have had the most to gain from the crime, so you aren't finding yourself voting blind at the last moment. When you're ready, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 6PM PST/9PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.
If you have any questions at any time, please let do us know by pinging us on Discord or on plurk! Britt (
bloodthirstiest) is taking point on the trial today, and Danielle (
entrappings) is her backup.
Thank you, and have fun!

second floor findings + SHOW US YOUR WOUNDS AGAIN
As you know— Luke, Narukami and I examined the second floor hallway, where we found... A mess, to be blunt. There was a strange, unidentifiable substance coating the floor. One that I had the misfortune of coming in contact with. [He gestures down to his right hand, which is now stuck in a 👌 due to his index finger and thumb getting stuck together.] I've refrained from ingesting a sample due to how glutinous it is — but we should take it to the lab in order to confirm what it is, exactly.
[Anyway! Taking out the items they found, and explaining them as he goes.]
During our investigation, I found a broken vial similar to the one found on Entrapta. This one did not have a bitter odour. I also found a large pool of blood, as if someone had bled out on the spot, but no trail indicating that they were dragged away from the scene. There were broken beakers and vials surrounding the pool, as well as purple hair matching Entrapta's. I also found a cooking pan, but no indication of what it was used for. [Is Rapunzel the secret 43rd character? We just don't know.] Luke found a broken capsule, lighter, and several weapons... One sword from the armory, to be exact, along with several bo-shuriken. Emma and Entrapta's personal notebook were found in the vicinity, too... We also found a defective smokebomb and some crumbs. Perhaps from the cookie Catra ingested.
There were scorch marks in the second floor hallway, with scratches on the ground nearby... [...] Oh— Luke found a golden coin in the corner of the room. Heavily tarnished. It could be Entrapta's.
[There's a beat, and Connor sighs.]
Because of the weapons we found, we would like to reexamine the injuries of anyone who presented fresh cuts or bruises. [And. He looks at Sasuke, frowning.] And you, in particular, I would like to reexamine personally.

Connor-san, can I have the coin please?

[He doesn't bother removing anything. Instead, face grimaced sour, he slides a hand under his shirt to lift it up and expose the bruise over his sternum since that's the only thing he had.]
It's from Justice. He shoved me.
no subject
[Anyway— He's comparing the bruise to the pan from all possible angles. Is it even vaguely a match?]
no subject
[Connor can check with the pan, but it isn't a match from any angle.]

No funny business. Connor's an adult.

I punched him—a lot. Yu saw it, too.

I was a witness to the whole fight. I can account for both of their injuries, yes.

Yeah. He's going to stare for a long, long moment — before abruptly turning away. His face is twisted up in some weird amalgamation of emotion, almost like he's both flustered and disgusted at once.]
You're— [GOD.] You're clear.
